Board Swap RevD to Rev F6

Postby Hank » 2018-Jun-Sun-14-Jun

Does anyone know of a guide to swaping the print board from a RevD to RevF6.

I bought a Simple Metal for my classroom in 2014. Up until now I've keep the printer stock. This year I it started to have printing issues and I decided to upgrade the hot end and then the printer board.

I concider myself decent with technology, but I don't have a lot of experience with electronics wireing.

The biggest thing that is challenging me is rewiring from the 4-pin connector to the 6 pin. I purchased the 6-pin Compact Power Harness Dongle, and I'm not sure what wires go where as I move them from the 4-pin to the 6-pin.

Ideally, you use an ATX power supply with a PCI-E connector that already has 6 pins wired up correctly.
In any event, all three wires closest to the edge of the board are ground (black) and the three wires away from the edge are +12V (yellow in the world of PC power supplies).
