Greetings from Michel Bevan

Postby Michel-B1979 » 2017-Sep-Sun-10-Sep

Hi,

My name is Michel Bevan, I'm a Network Admin for a smaller IT firm based in Berlin, Germany. I've worked in the IT field for about 6 years, working for Intel for quite some time as a network admin/teacher, and some contract works for the gov't. I've been building programmable robots since I was 19.

I am looking forward to gaining from the huge amount of information here and hopefully help others along the way.

Many Thanks.

This forum is oriented to people who own, or are thinking of owning, a 3D printer, usually one made by Printrbot. May I ask what kind of 3D printer you have or plan to have?

This exact same post has been made in several unrelated forums. It's coming from a US based IP address belonging to digitalocean, a VPN hoster. It is not listed in stopforumspam, although using a VPN might be the reason. He did spend an hour here, a point in his favor.

We should keep an eye on this user. It might be someone not real familiar with English who has varied interests, but...

Totally agree, Mooselake. When a post is obvious spam (totally devoid of content, necroposted on an ancient thread), I have no problem deleting it and banning the user. But On the off chance that a real user might get off to a slow start, I sometimes try to give a little opportunity for explanation and a little guidance on the real purpose of the forum.

Yes, we understand you. Unfortunately we have way too much experience with forum spammers.

You just made the same post in another, unrelated, forum that I read regularly.

Goodby, Michel, or whatever your name really is. Sorry it had to end like this. I was hoping you really were another network administrator.
