Heated Bed Wires

Heated Bed Wires

Postby New Passion » 2017-Jan-Sat-21-Jan

Hi, I have a friend of mine that just bought a used Simple Metal, and he wants to put a heated bed on his, like I have on my printer, but his heated bed pcb he bought has two black wires. Mine has one red wire and one black wire. His Board is a rev F4 with the screw terminals for a heated bed, and the heated bed pcb he bought off ebay is 12v. He wanted to know if it makes a difference as to which screw terminal he attaches his wires, since they are both black wires. I told him I didn't think it made a difference, but I would ask on the forum. Thanks.

Agree.
Unless... Some heated beds have little LED indicators on them to tell you when power is being applied. If that's the case, and if the LED doesn't light up, then simply reverse the wires. No damage will occur regardless of which way the wires are hooked up.
