Bed leveling Springs.

Postby Nick_Alan » 2014-Aug-Sat-19-Aug

I don't need them, but I do want to know the measurements or types of springs used in printers like the printerbot simple so I know what to look for if they ever get lost or damaged!

I've received several different ones with the 4 kits I have put together. Basically my hey are just 3/4 inch length and about 1/r inch diameter. Different strength on different ones. The BOM at : http://printrbot.com/wp-content/uploads ... 14-PDF.pdf only lists them as bed springs, no size stipulated.

If you change the bolt diameter, length or even want a different stiffness, it's a personal choice.
I took mine out and used very stiff 5/8th rubber spacers in, with my bed bolts inserted from beneath and locked into place. This locks in my level adjustment and remove any play caused by movement backlash. Don't ever have to adjust it if level is locked in.
Hope that is of some help.

The average ball point pen clicker spring serves as a perfect replacement for the simple ones.
