Brook Branching out to TV...

Postby Jon Lawrence » 2014-Dec-Thu-20-Dec

I thought that guy on the Science channel preview of "All American Makers" looked familiar, turns out I was right. Brook, congratulations on getting the TV gig.

Premieres on Jan 21, so should be starting to hit your TV guide by now if you have a Tivo or other DVR. Mine is set to record!

From his comments on Google+ he seems a little sheepish about the show. It'll be interesting to see how they portray him.

I really enjoyed it, Brook seems like a fun guy.

SPOILERS

One thing I found that was weird, the rocket skates were at CES as a full product, and the Bug A Salt (I think) is an actual product that you can buy on Amazon and in some stores, the only one I haven't heard of was the Grayl

The background was interesting. Do you think that's a set, or could it actually be Printrbot's workshop. Did you notice the 3D printers and other gadgets in the background?

I'd buy a bug-a-salt if it was $20, but did you notice it's the #1 salt and pepper shaker seller on Amazon; weird. The program was probably recorded some time ago, maybe PBot's wasn't doing as well as we thought back then; probably needed more money to fund the sideways CNC.

I'm not to big on "Reality TV", or Shark Tank type programs. I expect I'll watch it a time or two more, then remove it from the auto record list. I should be PBotting, not watching TV anyway.

My thoughts on the show...

I just hope they paid Brook well for his part in that tragedy of a "fake-ality" show.

Wrong picture; Brook is the bald guy on the show, and as all of us that are hirstutely challenged know, fake hair just don't cut it since bald is better (it's even worse if you're a moose...). Brook's hair in that picture obviously fake.

It was filmed back in August (or thereabouts). In Brooklyn.

The intro at the very beginning where you see Brook walking behind an assembly line is in his shop.
