Yea, I don't understand that, either.

Nice design. I'm impressed. Mainly because I just can't seem to wrap my head around Blender. There is so much going on in that interface I'm a bit overwhelmed. How did you learn how to use Blender?
Currently, I'm using Autodesk Inventor for my projects, but, I needed to take a 1 night, 3 hour course on the basics to get myself started in the right direction.

Thank you Corey,
I made a video of the whole project but can't post the url because i'm a new member to this forum.
Search youtube for notionSunday
the vid has an animation, printing, assembly & demo(cat playing w/ it)

Also I just signed up at thingiverse...and posted the cat toy there. search notionSunday there too if you like.

Been using blender on and off for about 8+ years and all self taught.
Lot of great tutorials on youtube for learning blender. I still watch allot of them.

Just watched the video, thanks for posting the link IB3D.

I have one question for notionSD before I print out one for our cats; did you tap the bottom part or just allow the bolt to "self-tap" into the bottom piece as you screwed it in? Also, what size bolt did you use?

Thanks IB3D for posting the link.

I like your profile pic ktfergus. :D

For the hole, It printed a little too small for the screw I was using so I drilled it out slightly(still learning to use my printer). Then let the screw self-tap.

I dont think the size of the screw is all that critical. Mine fit together pretty tight and didnt need much
to hold it together.

I removed the screw and measured it...
15mm x 2.25mm
head width was 4.2mm

Had several different screw that would have worked ok. I've saved all the different screws from old electronics stuff I have collected over the years.

Post your print please.
