Look ma, no hands!

Postby evanalmighty » 2014-Feb-Wed-13-Feb

I was so excited after putting the Simple together I didn't even bother to read the part about calibrating. I will probably go back and do some fine tuning this weekend, but for the most part my calibration cube came out almost dead on so I don't want to ruin a good thing just yet.

That's AWESOME!! I hope my Simple prints come out as good as yours. I'm on about step #22 of the main build which is attaching the string to the bed of the X axis. I'm also doing the Simple XL Tower build with the larger aluminum bed to boot!

Thanks. All I can say is tighten that string as much as you can. Let me know if you have any questions. I did the exact same thing doing the XL upgrade at the same time.

I see your first prints are a of a nice looking Y axis timing belt mod.... :D

Personally I would skip the Z end stop extension unless you really need it. If it gets installed a tiny bit crooked the height change per partial turn is not consistent. I have been considering reworking it to be more forgiving. Just my 2 cents...

Nice prints, great quality out of the box!

Edit: I uploaded another version, should work better with the XL upgrade.
