“New-to-me” printer - first print

I bought a Printrbot from Craigslist a couple weeks ago and finally made it go. I was having trouble getting it started but old forum posts helped. It’s a plywood model with a Rev D board and some upgrades for bigger bed size and belt drive instead of string drive.
My advice for anybody in my situation:
1. Different 3D printer programs respond differently. Try a few.
2. Some stuff that hasn’t been updated since windows 7 still works, but not all of it.
3. Unplug and replug frequently.
And my biggest obstacle:
4. Temperature setting of 210 in Slic3r and 200 in Repetier meant it never got up to ready temperature.

So finally I figured that out and had my first success today.

Got the calibration cat off Thingiverse.

:| And then of course my second print, a Valentines rose, failed because the belt pulley came undone.... :?

Good work. It will keep on getting better as you learn more about how everything works. :geek:
