Fan shroud seems misaligned

Postby steambc » 2015-Mar-Mon-10-Mar

I just finished the Printrbot Simple Maker kit (the wood one) and everything went smooth as silk.

I just now printed the fan shroud and mounted it, but it seems that the nozzle is aimed to the left of the nozzle (as viewed from the front of the printer). Shouldn't it be blowing directly onto the nozzle? The offset seems to be a little less than 3/4 inch.

I see no other way to mount it as it's "keyed" with cutouts and can only fit one way.

Is this offset a problem? If so, is there a solution?

Thanks!

Maybe your printer is mirroring the print. Check the part to see what it's supposed to look like in the slicing software vs. how it actually printed.

The shroud is weird. Its suppose to offset slightly to point right below the hotend.

Im not sure that they ever fixed the link from pointing to the Simple Metal shroud, but you can find better shrouds on thingiverse for the 1405.
