Simple Metal Not connecting Right

Postby rippledabs » 2018-Feb-Mon-00-Feb

Hey guys,

Any help appreciated. I think my board is messed up somehow. The raspberry pi won't connect anymore, and connecting it to my PC gives me a bunch of IO nonsense.

Picture of the nonsense attached. Any pointers? Board fried somehow? Firmware corrupted?

If it actually had speeds a mismatch would be my first thought, but the onboard interface eliminates that. It's communicating somewhat, there's some appropriate commands in there which means that it's seeing OKs to get that far. I'm not familiar with that interface program, what happens if you try Cura, Pronterface, or Repetier-Host?

Firmware's a possibility, but swap out the USB cable first for a known good one. That looks like noise. And what's with the funny port name?

What version board, and what PC OS and control program are you using?

This is simplify3d. It's now refusing to detect the serial connection. Tried 3 different cables. Did printrbot release any kind of schematic of the board for troubleshooting?

My other printers connect with no issues.

Yes, you can find schematics of the Printrboard at http://www.reprap.org/wiki/printrboard and also on Github (the ones on Github are in Eagle format, with both schematic and board layout).
