Cura plugin for leveling Simple metal on object location

Postby samirabaza » 2014-Nov-Fri-05-Nov

I developed this plug in to to minimize the flatness error of the default bed for Printrbot Simple Metal 1403
the idea is to test the with the probe only the minimum rectangle around the printing area only instead of the hole bed

so the board will store the exact level of this job printing area
more over you can edit and force certain points of test by the probe instead of the automatic mode by changing Min. X, Min. Y, Max. X & Max. Y values. also you can change the center distance between the hot end and the probe and the retract z value.

installation:

1- extract the file to plugins folder (Example:C:\Program Files (x86)\Cura_14.09\plugins)

2- very important: use ";" to disable G28 and G29 lines in the Start up code

so please test it and modify it if you want and tell me what you think

Cool idea, i dont have a metal simple but i use cura and my system has a probe. So i will give it a try and see how it works. Is it hard coding anything that would be for simple only? My bed is 300x220.

no it is not hard and you will find the code before the extruder heat line in the very beginning of the G-code

for the python script you can edit it simply using any text editor maybe notepad and at the end you will find the output G-code lines which is easy to change

kindly, if you did any modifications, please send me the file so I may update mine too based on your idea and experience.

Didn't see this until today, but I thought the Printrbot firmwares didn't support the G30 command that this plugin uses.
