Scaling question

Postby Bill.Brown1951 » 2015-Feb-Fri-07-Feb

I have a lamp base that needs to be scaled down a bit, to make it fit within the boundary of my simple metal printer. My question is this. Should I scale down all the parts needed to make this lamp the same amount as the base? Or just scale down the base of the lamp?

It depends on how you like the look, and whether or not it's stable with the smaller base. Does it need to be an exact match for the remaining parts to fit, or does everything just sit on the base?

Presumably there is a light fitting or something like that to go into the top of the lamp you're building? That part of your build can't be scaled down.
