Printrboard rev D red firmware upload error????? So confuse!

Postby Kevin37 » 2016-Nov-Sat-19-Nov

I have a red printrboard red D and am trying to upload marlin with corexy uncommented in order to have my new printer setup work with the h-bot configuration but I keep getting an error. Is there anyone that can help me figure out how to upload this or tell me what may be causing the error? I've already tor down my old setup and broke it in the process like a dummy! No I can't finish my project until I figure this out, any help is greatly appreciated. Here is a picture of the error I'm receiving in arduino ide. Thanks in advance.

You can't upload to Printrboards directly from Arduino. You have to create a hex file and then upload it using FLIP. Hopefully your red Rev D board has the DFU bootloader; the CDC bootloader can't handle Marlin because it's too big. The place you bought your board should be able to tell you which bootloader it has. If it's CDC, all is not lost, but it gets more complicated.
There are instructions for creating the hex file (and knowing where to find it), and instructions for using FLIP in many places including threads in this forum, info on Printrbot's site, and an entry in the Printrbot Wiki (the button next to the "Search..." box at the top of this screen). Although some parts of the Programming entry in the Wiki are obsolete, the instructions about creating the hex file with Arduino and uploading it with FLIP are still good.
