Cura G29 problem

Postby printer999 » 2015-Apr-Fri-22-Apr

Hi I have been using a Printrbot plus 2.1 with dual extruders and a bed leveling probe for a while now, I recently updated cura, and the probe stopped working the same way. The G29 command does all the points except the 3rd and 4th point correctly. The leveling seems to work fine untill the third point, where instead of moving down torwards the bed, the Z goes up and the leveling probe seems to activate at that point as well. And it does the same when it goes to the 4th point. Then it goes back to normal for the 5-9 point. I dont know whats going on. There are also These plugins active, In the new verison of Cura, and i dont know if they are active or not, or if they do anything. I think it may be because I updated cura or something My start Gcode is

What you describe is typical of a broken Z probe wire... it is intermittent because the wire is broken, but still touching when the head is in one position, but not quite touching for the others.

Is it possible to solder it back up, or do i need to order a new one.

Probes are quite cheap, only 4 or 5 dollars, so I wouldn't bother repairing it. Probably where one wire is intermittent, more than one is nearly broken. When my first one died, I could identify two different places where wires were broken. There's no harm done in trying to repair it though.

My own solution, though, was to level the bed manually and not use auto-leveling at all.
