current link for flip? atmel now microchip

Postby doug » 2018-Jan-Sun-11-Jan

Looks like Atmel rebranded as Microchip for the new year and decided to hide FLIP. The old link atmel d0t c0m slash tools slash flip d0t aspx (site wouldn't let me post a link in my first post) just redirects to the Microchip home page. Does anyone have a working link to download flip?
thanks

I did some Googling and searching within Microchip's site, and found this page. I can't guarantee it's the right one, but it looks like it should be what you need.

Thanks for looking. That is an old version that does not support the AT90USB1286. For some reason they are not showing 3.4.7.

I'll see if I can attach a zip of the executable FLIP program installer

I just used that same link and it will work, you just have to install the DFU drivers which are included with the package. Essentially do this:

1. Go to Device Manager
2. Find the "unknown device" or the non-working AT90USB device in the list
3. Right click and "update drivers"
4. Tell device manager that yoiu know where the driver is located.
5. Point it to C:\Program Files\Atmel\FLIP 3.4.1\usb

This page shows how: http://flysight.ca/wiki/index.php/Installing_DFU_driver
