Cure via SD (Metal Plus) prints blob

Postby jkmills » 2017-Feb-Fri-09-Feb

I know the answer is probably somewhere on the forum/internet and I have tried searching, but being so new I guess I don't understand the terms to search for.

I bought a Metal Plus and found the Micro USB port to be bad (new PrintrBoard on order). In the meantime I tried printing via MicroSD. The provided (gcode) files for the 3mm Box and the PB Logo Keychain work great! If I download anything into Cura and try to print it the printer does a few movements on the X/Y axis (like the initial steps) then goes to a spot and just starts pouring out filament and moving up on the Z Axis, creating a pile/blob...

I have watched a few tutorials and read pages on how to print from the SD card and I don't see anything special mentioned. I've loaded the profile that is provided and also tried loading the profile from one of the working gcode files. I still get the same issue everytime. This even happens if I load the 3mm Box stl file (where the provided 3mm box gcode file works fine).

Apologies for being a newb, I hope to get that part fixed soon :)
