Sometimes the USB cable is bad, or the connection on the printer end is a little flaky.
When you plug the cable in and / or turn the Printrbot power on, your Windows computer should make a little ba-ding sound indicating a new USB device has been found. After a few seconds, you should be able to see it in Device Manager. See this post: www.printrbottalk.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 55&p=24813

Printrbot Plus operational January 2013
Brass threaded rods (5/16" X 18) & nuts for Z axis
GT2 belts & pulleys
Cable chain to reduce probability of fatigue failure in wires
E3D V5 Hot End, 0.4mm nozzle, also 0.8 and 0.25 in use occasionally
PB fan mount + 40mm fan -- using printed mount adapter, not the E3D supplied fan
Injection molded extruder gears
Optical Z "endstop" (custom designed and built)
Have used many pounds of T-Glase filament. Now also doing some work with Ninjaflex SemiFlex

If multiple machines and USB cables have all declined to connect, you're narrowing it down to the Printrboard. Just as a last review, do you feel really good about all the power connectors (and other connectors for than matter,) on the Printrboard? Is the ATX jumper correctly in place (you mention getting the board green LED, but it doesn't hurt to check.)

You could also make sure you have good USB Serial drivers, you can download them at http://pjrc.com/teensy/serial_install.exe
