I just downloaded this and I am no familiar with it.I can't get a print off with the settings I have now.I was able to size the piece with the printer tab,selecting firmware and selecting 5D-absolute E.Also,I was able to enter in the x,y and z size for the printer.I am not sure what else I should change.When I dropped the g-code into repetier,the printer did not extrude during the print.So I tried a known g-code from another item and that printed fine.I would like to know what settings work well for others so I can try them.Thank you.

I unchecked on de-string and I was able to extrude for anyone having the same issues.

You asked for it. Here are some settings for you:

For the Simple XL, _printers.ini
Code: Select all
[Printrbot Simple]
bed_STL_filename=
extension=gcode
cost_per_hour=0.05
g_code_prefix=4D3232302053313030203B2072657365742073706565640A4D313036203B207475726E206F6E2066616E0A3B4D3932205838342E3137205938332E3837205A313934372E3820453130302E3030203B2073616E64696E67206472756D0A3B4D3932205838312E3335205938302E3538205A313934372E38204538382E38203B204754320A4D3932205838322E39323637205938302E3538205A313934372E382045313030203B204754320A4D3230312058333030302059333030303B206D617820616363656C207072696E740A4D323032205837303020593730303B206D617820616363656C2074726176656C0A4D323034205333303030203B2064656661756C7420616363656C20666F72206E6F726D616C206D6F76657372206E6F726D616C206D6F7665730A4D323035205831353B206D61782078796A65726B206D6D2F730A4D32303320583230302E303020593230302E3030205A342E3030204531342E3030203B20736574206D6178207370656564732058595A450A4D333031205031352E33332049302E3837204436372E38310A473930203B20757365206162736F6C75746520636F6F7264696E617465730A473231203B2073657420756E69747320746F206D696C6C696D65746572730A4D3832203B20757365206162736F6C7574652064697374616E63657320666F7220657874727573696F6E0A4D313136203B207761697420666F722074656D707320746F20736574746C650A473238203B20686F6D6520616C6C2061786573

You will notice that KISSlicer create a number of files that start with _ and end in .ini. These are text files that contain your set up parameters. You can copy and paste those I posted for their respective .ini's into your .ini's and they will show up in your tabs etc. Or just manually enter the parameters.

This is also a useful resource: http://forum.typeamachines.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=390

Hello Everybody,

thanks plexus, your code was helpful for setting my printrbot simple on kisslicer, i have a problem and wonder if anyone faced it
I'm using kisslicer 1.1.0 and for some reason I can't control the speed at which the object is printed
I tried changing the speed in printer settings several times but the feed rate that comes out in the gcode is still the same, I also tried playing with the speed slider to extremes but now difference

anyone faced that before ?

You have to set the min and max speeds of the printer in the printer speed panel. then the speed slider will range between these values. If you have basically the same speeds in there, the slider won't adjust anything.

I did some speed experiments with my printer to arrive at the fastest speed it could print, which I put in the Fast section. I decided to put 1 and 2 in the lowest speed section. now the speed slider ranges between these. There is no point in putting speeds in Fast that your printer can't achieve and there is no point in putting values in Precise that you'd never print at. I should take my own advice. ;)

Thanks plexus :D

I tried changing the slider to the absurd rate (1mm/s & 2mm/s) but the gcode always comes out at different rates regardless of what the slider has
I reset the Ptr G-code pre and post to defaults (which are really nothing other than home and set units to mm commands)
the gcode is very large so I've attached the first 2500 lines only, you can see that feed rates are in the order of 70mm/s (F4200) and more in some cases

:( still don't understand why the rates are coming out fixed (btw, I tried this on windows and linux machines, exact same behavior)
