Which geared extruder

Which geared extruder

Postby bbrown64 » 2015-Jul-Tue-18-Jul

I have been in communications with the people at E3D. They suggest a geared extruder instead of the factory extruder that comes with a PB SM 1403. What are my choices? Which would fit my printer without much modifications?

PB sells a geared extruder. I assume that would be designed to fit the existing models?

Beware that this extruder does NOT come complete.... for your $20 you get a bunch of screws & gears, and instructions on where to get the STLs to print the rest of the device.

Assuming you already have (or have access to) a working printer it's not hard to print the plastic parts. I like my V2; there's a mini review if you search for it.

I saw the PB geared extruder. But not sure what V. 2 looks like. Moose could you provide a link, please?

V2 refers to the stl files that PB released. V2 was springless, V3 (iirc) looks more like the aluminum extruder. There's pictures of mine here.
